Canadian Rye Whisky, made with local organic rye and barley grains. This flagship whisky is fermented, distilled, and aged in virgin American white oak barrels in Carleton County of New Brunswick. The whisky is a blend of our charred and toasted barrel stock. The stunning label on this bottle proudly depicts the famous longest covered bridge in our hometown of Hartland.
Tasting notes (without ice or water):
The nose has a fruity banana aroma, toasted oak with light hints of vanilla and butterscotch. The whisky is chill filtered, so we find the mouth feel to be very smooth and enjoyable with very little tannic bitterness from the virgin oak. On the palate we have a heat that fades quickly over the tongue to banana bread, mild vanilla, butter tart, white pepper and coconut. It has a comfortable medium-long finish. It starts with spiced banana bread but fades into a lengthier coconut taste that hangs on your breathe as you exhale.
We found that this whisky's flavour really opens up on the nose and palate when enjoyed over a couple of ice cubes. It is a very easy sip. Cheers!
